Manager Hints at Transfer for Spurs Target

West Brom manager has hinted that Saido Berahino is on his way out of the Hawthorns.
The young striker has been strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane in recent weeks and has been left out of West Brom’s side to face Chelsea this afternoon.
Tony Pulis gave an angry answer to Sky Sports when asked pre-game why Berahino was not in his squad.
The Baggies boss was not happy about the transfer window being open after the first game of the season (8 August) stating that it disrupts teams.
Player power these days essentially means stars like Berahino can force their way out of clubs for a bigger move, such as Raheem Sterling did earlier this summer, joining title contenders Manchester City for Liverpool.
The good news for West Brom is that Tottenham have been linked to pay as much as £25 million for the 22-year-old.
Said Berahino scored 14 goals in 38 Premier League appearances for West Brom last season after scoring five in 32 during his debut season the year before. He and West Brom have failed to score in their opening two Premier League matches.
Salomón Rondón starts up front of the home side today, making his debut following his £12 million move from Zenit St. Petersburg. Callum McManaman lines up on the left of a 4-5-1 formation looking to take advantage of a Chelsea side who have picked up only one point from their opening two matches.
It will be interesting to see how much the absence of Berahino causes Tony Pulis’ side this afternoon.
Tottenham Hotspur only have Harry Kane and Emmanuel Adebayor as options up front on their book, with the Togo striker out-of-favour currently. Mauricio Pochettino has been expected to bring in a new striker this month after allowing Roberto Soldado to leave to Villarreal.
