Liverpool in £5m bid for Arsenal defender

Liverpool have bid £5m for Arsenal defender Gael Clichy, according to the Times.

The French international full-back has only one-year remaining on his Arsenal deal so the club could see the offer as too good to turn down. Liverpool are looking for a left-back with Paul Konchesky likely to be sold and Emiliano Insua’s future unclear.

If Arsenal do decide to sell Clichy, England Under-21 starlet Kieran Gibbs may be given his opportunity to shine in the first team.

Meanwhile, reports tonight also suggest that Manchester United have made the first steps to sign Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri.

Hope this is bullsh*t because he’s a poor left back. Very overrated.
